Resolve issue of Skype screen sharing crashing on Ubuntu

 Edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncomment enableWayland=false

Restart system

Check if Wayland has been replaced by X11 by using the command

loginctl

loginctl show-session <session id> -p Type
